Zappas debut album Freak out! är inte rakt igenom dåligt. Det finns låtar som är bra. Sköna poplåtar och även ett par rockrökare. Problemet är att jag aldrig förstår om han gör det på allvar eller om han hånar och skojar med olika genrer. Därför blir jag aldrig berörd. Jag blir snarare upprörd.
Angående Zappa kan jag också konstatera att alla jag träffat som har Zappa som en av sina musikaliska idoler nästan alltid har totalt olik musiksmak jämfört med min. Det vanligaste är att Zappa fansen också är frälsta i jazzfusion från 70-talet. Ytterligare en musikgenre som jag inte tål.
